Attending orientation will help you:
- Understand WCC resources, opportunities, policies and procedures.
- Formulate academic and personal goals for your first semester and plan for adjustment that will be unique to your college experience.
- Feel supported through your enrollment and college transition experience.
- Connect to peer-to-peer experiences that promote connection to the WCC.
- Be aware of support services and resources available to you.

Best for new students who want to complete everything in one day
This orientation is WCC’s most comprehensive in-person orientation experience for new students.
During this session you will:
- Complete your orientation checklist requirement
- Meet with an academic advisor
- Meet with success coach
- Register for classes
- Review payment options
Format:
- In-person
- 3 hours
Hybrid Orientation
Best for students who want flexibility
Hybrid orientation gives you the choice to attend either in-person or virtually on Zoom for 75 minutes. Learn about campus resources, support services, and plan for your first semester.
During this session you will:
- Complete your orientation checklist requirement
- Learn about:
- Campus resources
- Student gateway
- Financial aid
- Scholarship opportunities
Format:
- In-person AND virtual
- 75 minutes (may run up to 90 min)
How to Sign Up for an Orientation
Go to the Student Gateway.
After arriving on the Student Gateway, go to Quick Links for Applicants and click My Application Checklist (see image).

If you are more than 5 minutes late to your orientation session, you will be asked to reschedule.

Ambassador Team

F1 Visa
If you’re studying in WCC on an F1 visa, welcome! You’ll attend an orientation to learn about the requirements specific to your status.
English as a Second Language
Attend this session to learn about the CaMLA English placement test, which assess your language skills and identify a starting class level. To select an upcoming ESL orientation session, see your "Checklist" within MyWCC.
