Many of our graduates' stories represent the remarkable head start a WTMC education can provide. Read about some of their experiences here:

 

Dave N.

Voted "Grand Rapids Young Professional of the Year" in 2017, Dave completed an occupational studies associate degree and a business sales and marketing certificate at WTMC. He is currently a member of the Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. Resident Alliance Board and the Kent County Hotel Advisory Committee. He was the youngest board member of the National Tour Association’s Board of Directors in the history of the association. - Class of 2011

Jules C.
Jules earned a Photographic Imaging certificate from WCC. After graduation, Jules studied at Mills College and competed nationally in ultimate frisbee, returning to coach the sport at WTMC. She went on to earn a degree in soil microbiology from the University of Michigan and now works as educational director for the UCLA Botanical Gardens. - Class of 2007 

Steven D.
Steve graduated from WTMC with a degree in engineering technology from WCC. In the fall of 2004 he transferred 72 credits to the University of California-Berkeley engineering program. In April of 2004, at the age of 17, Steve passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE), making him one of the youngest people on record to pass the NCEES exam. - Class of 2004 

Kristen T.
Kristen transferred to George Washington University's honors program in international relations with over 65 credits. Kristen was awarded a $48,000 scholarship from GWU and she graduated cum laude in 2003. Kristen finished her master's degree in science and technology policy in 2005. She graduated summa cum laude for both degrees. Kristen is also the Director of the Environmental Protection Agency's International Climate Protection Awards program. - Class of 2001 

Jennifer W.
Jenna started as an eleventh-grade student. After 2 ½ years at WTMC, she spent one semester at Eastern Michigan University to finish prerequisites for vet school. She was then admitted to Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine at age 19. She now works locally as a small animal veterinarian. - Class of 2014

Augustine S. 
Augustine transferred to the University of Michigan in January, 2005. Augustine is the author of Navy Boot Camp: The Complete Manual available online to all navy recruits. Augustine was also honored by Governor Granholm as the State of Michigan 2004 Sea Cadet of the Year, Chief Petty Officer. - Class of 2004 

Mark R.
Mark is recognized by Cisco Systems as the youngest person in the nation certified as both a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Mark also has a CompTIA + certification and currently works in the software industry. - Class of 2005 

Alex M.
Alex is one of the top Realtors® in the Washtenaw County area, and a Certified Corporate Relocation Specialist. In 2006, Alex sold 43 properties worth $13.2 million in volume and was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors®. Alex was elected to the WTMC Board of Trustees in 2014. - Class of 2001
